Ski Nevada primarily uses the Mt. Rose area at Lake Tahoe for touring and exploration.  Located between Lake Tahoe and Reno, the Mt. Rose Highway is the highest year-round maintained road in the Sierra.  This elevation advantage virtually guarantees good snow conditions.  Even drought years see decent coverage in the Rose area, and the elevation usually gets us above the rain that is sometimes an issue in other parts of Tahoe.
